HEAL YOURSELF & HEAL THE WORLD

It’s crazy to think but once again, we are circling on another holiday season, which will culminate with another year passing us by. I think we can agree that we have all (basically all of humanity) been through so much in the last three years, as we have tried to “move on” from the global pandemic and all the craziness that came with those years. If you were lucky, (some were not so lucky) you and your family members were left unscathed, and you learned from that experience. And by learned, I mean that you learned who and what is important to you, what you are willing to accept or not accept or perhaps you learned to live more passionately and purposefully, knowing everything that was going on in the world and the uncertain times we were living in. This would have been the best-case scenario for that experience and those years (2020 to date.)

Fast-forward to today and I would say that most of us have been living in a kind of plateau-survival mode, where everything seems okay, but we don’t want to stir the pot too much and get out of our routines or comfort zone, but the reality is that there are a lot of shifts coming!

In my opinion, there will be changes for us all, whether we are ready or not.

Brace yourself for all the news in the coming weeks and months that will most likely wreak havoc and chaos. There will be new versions of CV19, new regulations & restrictions, talk of Alien invasions, gun violence, DEW, global fires, political drama, tsunamis, climate craziness and overall inexplicable happenings with a tinge of fearmongering.

It may feel like things are getting more chaotic (and perhaps they are,) but it is actually a perfect time to go on a healing journey and to find the truth of who we (each) are. We are being called into the unknown to heal the aspects of ourselves that need to be healed. We must go through the rough days to get to the other side of love, nurturing and the truth of who we are individually. We must face those things that trigger us and heal ourselves from whatever traumas are still holding us back.

We should aim to shift our perceptions and our beliefs to become more open-minded and accepting of others and more compassionate as human beings. We are all connected, however, when we are divided by race, religion, politics and so forth, we are weak and powerless. When we unite, we are stronger. That is why finding who you truly are as an individual is key because there is nobody else like you! Being your true self is how you actually fit into the world. Like puzzle pieces in a jigsaw, we all fit harmoniously. Every single piece is a different shape and we have to find our positions in the puzzle and honoring and expressing that. We are all puzzle-makers in the jigsaw of life  ~Lissette Rozenblat

In the next few months and years, there will be massive changes to humanity. We are living in a time where we will actually see humanity shift. Believe it or not, we are living in the greatest time right now, as we watch the shift happen. It is not necessarily the Earth that is shifting, we as people are the ones changing. We are moving into a higher state of consciousness and awareness. There are those who may continue to elevate their consciousness and then there are those who will stay on the same plane of existence (3D) just getting by without really making any difference or expanding their mindset or way of living life.

There are some people who can no longer conform with idle chit-chat, a.k.a. mindless conversations, or just spending days watching the news or gossiping or putting up with any b.s. These people have leveled up so to speak and are looking for more profound relationships and meaning to life. There are many “light workers,” whose aim is to help heal the world and make a difference. A light worker is someone who strives to make the world a better place and improve the lives of others. In my opinion, we are not just here to wake up, go to work, pay bills, sleep and repeat every day. There has to be more!

It is up to each one of us to find the power within ourselves to find unconditional love and come back to the remembrance of why we are here on Earth.

The physical reality we are in, is an extension of our spiritual selves. We are here in this physical state to discover ourselves from a new point of view. We are all living a “movie, a play,” you might say, and we all have different roles to play.

Mother Nature is trying to do her part in waking us up. Planet Earth is ascending, and it will affect the entire galaxy and will trigger humanity to awaken to stop ignoring the laws of the Universe. “Your frequency is your highest currency.” – Eldora We must raise our frequency/vibration.

It is time to step into your POWER! Humanity is being asked to step into its divine power.

All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances; And one man in his time plays many parts.” – Shakespeare

The primary message we should take away is, “What are we trying to learn? What are we trying to transform, even in the midst of all the mayhem?” No matter what is happening around us, here on Earth, we should learn how to create our own reality, and learn how we can affect the collective. We need to learn to experience our physical reality to change to be more in alignment with our spiritual existence.

How we experience our physical existence can be manipulated or arranged, and we can learn how to change things and transform to become much more aligned with our purpose here in on Earth. The goal is to discover ourselves from a new perspective.

It is easier to see a candle flame when it’s surrounded by darkness. This is why we need BOTH sides to understand something about ourselves – like a play of “light and dark, and in that play, we can discover who we are. – (synopsis from Darryl Anka, a.k.a. Bashar.)

How are you expanding your knowledge while you are here on Earth, while navigating through the chaos and all the choices you are faced with? Are you exploring the light and the dark – the negative and the positive? That is essentially the eternal battle of life – the choices between good and evil, the light and the dark forces. However, it is not necessary to get consumed with existential questions but rather, to learn to navigate life with the best tools at your disposal to master your journey. It is best to focus on spreading love and being kind, whenever possible.

We have the power to take responsibility for how we respond to what happens to us and to learn from it. Not the blame, but the responsibility without falling into victimhood. We must learn to face the things that scare us so that we can elevate and evolve into better versions of ourselves. Do not let fear hold you back. Let go of “imposter syndrome” and be all that you are meant to be, as you break free from the fears you have held onto for so long. Do the things that scare you and step into greatness. When you open yourself up to receive and when you live in gratitude, the Universe (God/Source) listens and responds.

So as things begin to shake things up again, focus on living life on your own terms as powerfully and as SAFELY as possible! Stay away from the sensationalized news, stay focused on your goals, and on your family, while living your best life, as intentionally as possible to become the best version of YOU! And follow your passion because that is what your higher self is seeking. When you act on your passion, the things you love to do (things you could do every day, all day if you could,) it helps you form a strong connection and awareness to our higher self, and this leads us to the path that is true to who we are.

And remember to stay in a positive state, even when the outcome is not the one you want.

Everything is interconnected.

I say, stay FOCUSED! Invest in YOURSELF and in your HEALTH.

HERE ARE MY 13 TIPS/RECOMMENDATIONS:

1. Be safe.

2. Be smart.

3. Raise your vibration to a higher frequency (love.)

4. Invest in your health; especially boosting your immune system.

5. Read and listen to things that will help shift your mindset.

6. Use common sense.

7. Focus on facts and not rumors or fearmongering.

8. Maintain Balance – everything in life is about balance.

9. Question everything!

10. Let go of fear-based beliefs

11. Follow your passion.

12. Feed your soul with intention and purpose.

13. Raise your frequency; raise your consciousness.

14. Step into your POWER.

15. Be Happy! Find the joy in everyday living.

It is time we COLLECTIVELY raised the consciousness of the Universe and stopped with all the negative drama on the planet! Fall in love with healing yourself (individually) – mind, body and soul, so that you can affect the collective positively! Be the change you wish to see in the world!

Stop playing small and OWN YOUR LIGHT!

When we bring more love to ourselves, we can bring more love to humanity and help to heal the world one person at a time!

STEP INTO GREATNESS!

A FIT PLACE

Ladies! This one is for you. If you are dealing with hormone issues, weight issues, gut health issues, lack of sleep, anxiety or menopause, then this may resonate even more.

If you know me personally, you know that my mom passed away young, (and if you didn’t know, now you do.) Sadly, she passed away from the C-word at the young age of 50, (she was 6 moths shy of 51.) So, I really didn’t see her go through menopause, or maybe I was just living in my own world and didn’t know? Either way, I didn’t and don’t have her to go to for reference, especially now that I am at that stage!

I’ve learned to do my own research and live and learn through my own experiences. What I know for a fact is that menopause can be a real b*tch! One minute you are loving life in your 30’s, then slowly your 40’s start to creep up – you gain more confidence, feel good in your own skin and then bam! Out of nowhere, this crazy hormonal hurricane hits your life. If you are ill-prepared and can screw with your mental health as well as your body. I don’t want to delve TOO much into the specifics of menopause, because I want to focus more on solutions to hormonal issues, weight gain and gut health.

I will say though, that I am doing everything I can to try to deal with some of the symptoms that have wreaked havoc on my body. For example, some of the symptoms that women tend to experience are things like:

-Whole body: fatigue, night sweats, joints hurting, hot flashes, or sweating;

-Meno belly (gaining weight around the belly/abdomen area.)

-Anxiety, dry skin, irritability, moodiness, reduced sex drive, or vaginal dryness

-Sleep: early awakening or insomnia

-Menstrual: absence of menstruation or irregular menstruation

-Hair: dryness or loss of scalp hair

It really is no picnic! And if you have a spouse/partner, often times they are left wondering what the heck is going on with you! Even if you are not menopausal, just having that fluctuation of hormones that women have monthly can be a roller-coaster of emotions.

Everyone talks about getting your period when you are a pre-teen but as you grow older into adulthood, no one really warns you about the nightmare that is menopause. It used to be a taboo subject, thankfully, now there is so much more information shared publicly.

Of course, there are those lucky few who don’t have any symptoms at all, or have procedures done or take hormones etc…but personally, I always try to choose the natural solutions to deal with health issues.

It is because my mom had the C-word that I am a little paranoid about hormone therapy or going the big pharma route. I saw her go through so much to fight for her life, that I have made a conscious commitment to do my part in trying to be healthier and to help others along the way, not only in her memory but for my children, for my family and for myself! Life has plenty of ups and downs (surprises) and G-d only knows what’s in store for each one of us, but we CAN, each do our part to try to be as happy and as healthy as possible, with the cards we are dealt. We can’t always control what is thrown at us, but we can control how we react and respond. And with that said, let me just say that being a woman comes with its own special set of rules and circumstances! As women, we go through a lot physically as we begin to develop and our hormones kick in, and then as we get older, we have to deal with even more. It is always a challenge but part of the journey.

If you have been following my blogs and social media posts, you know that I am all about holistic health solutions and always try to bring you the best in the holistic health and wellness industry.

I have started a new (holistic) regimen and I am loving it! It has been a while since I found something that helps me: mind, body & soul. Recently, I had a few rough weeks, of emotional rollercoasters and strange aches & pains (coupled with tons of inflammation in my body) and life stressors, but thanks to my new regimen, I have found my groove again.

I will share with you my regimen and also the fact that I have scheduled follow up MRIs for the health issues I have to deal with. I am holding myself accountable. What I can say with certainty, is that this regimen, a.k.a. my “Power Pack” is definitely making a difference for me!

I drink (1) “Swamp Water” a day, which is basically a moringa supplement that comes in a powder form in a sachet/stick that I pour into a cold glass of water with ice. Somedays, I switch it up and add it to my morning green smoothie. And every mid-morning, I take (1) nootropic capsule to activate my day. This combo alone has changed so many things for me.

After just 30 days, I am feeling so much better.

-My cravings are gone. Instead, I crave healthy foods, and I’m not snacking all day because I’m way less hungry;

-Way less bloated and still working on it;

-Hot flashes are drastically reduced, actually almost all gone;

-Hair loss is improving;

-Mood swings are gone, I’m way happier, less stressed

-I do have a craving! I crave my ‘Swamp Water” more than coffee, which is a big deal for me! I’m not exhausted like I was; I don’t even need coffee in the mornings!

-And the really big one for me is that my inflammation has gone down and so has all the soreness around my joints.

When I really need a boost of clean energy, I take our Energy + CBD capsule (with NO THC.) It adds a boost of pure energy to my day without experiencing the jitters or crashing. “One capsule is equivalent to a 10–12-ounce cup of coffee. With the added benefits of ingredients within the nootropics line, you may gain more mental focus and feel more refreshed. “

And about 3 times a week I take a cleanse capsule at night, that helps the body get rid of impurities. It helps to make me feel less bloated and supports my weight management efforts.

And the one thing that really pushes my weight management efforts is our Detox Tea. This one, I drink 2 or 3 times a month, as needed. My team & I are doing a 3-Day Detox Challenge that will help re-set your gut and help you to lose 3-5 lbs. All of these things I mentioned plus our sleep product, make up our Fitness Bundle.

I love this system of products that work synergistically but I have to admit that my favorite is our “Swamp Water.” So why am I so obsessed with a drink that looks something that like literal swamp water from Shrek’s backyard? Well, believe it or not, it actually has a tropical taste to it, but even if it didn’t taste good, just knowing how good it is for you, is motivating factor enough for me.

I am always looking for the best possible things to drink and eat that are good for me and good for my gut health. And EVERYTHING begins in the gut!

If you don’t already know, there is a definite connection between our brain (mental wellness) and our gut, so anything I can do to improve my gut health is welcomed. A healthy gut ultimately leads to a healthy mind and together, they synergistically make up the whole body. And for me, the goal is to be in a fit place: mind, body and soul!
But let me tell you all about what I have been drinking, a.k.a. “Swamp Water,” or Shrek Juice,” as I have heard some of my teammates jokingly call it. It is moringa powder from the Moringa Oleifera plant, one of the most nutrient dense plants in the world!

Check this out…ONE little packet of this powder that I drop right into my water is packed with:

  • 7 x more Vitamin C than Oranges 🍊
  • 4 x more Calcium than Milk
  • 3 x more potassium than bananas
  • 25 x more iron than spinach 🥗
  • 4 1/2 x more folate than beef liver 🥩
  • 4 x more vitamin A than carrots 🥕
  • 3X more potassium than bananas
  • 92+ cell ready nutrients
  • 46 Antioxidants
  • 36 Anti-inflammatory (note: inflammation is the root cause of most diseases.)
  • 18 Amino Acids (nine of which are essential)
  • Anti-viral
  • Anti-bacterial
  • Anti-microbial
  • 7 x more vitamin B7 (biotin) than eggs 🥚
  • An ORAC value (which measures the antioxidant capacity of food) of 157,000 – that’s 6x more than goji berries 🤯

And this is why they call this miracle plant, the “𝑇𝑟𝑒𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝐿𝑖𝑓𝑒” (for a good reason.)

It’s been used for thousands of years as •M E D I C I N E• for literally just about everything in India and Asia. And this specific Moringa, that I use is actually sourced directly from the foothills of the Himalayas.

So basically, you can ditch multiple bottles of supplements for this ONE drink that is packed with nutrients.

Now is the perfect time to get your body back on track, especially if you have been dealing with those tower moments in life, whether it is menopause, hormone imbalance, weight management issues, stressful life events, lack of energy or gut health issues.

If you want to get your hands on this Moringa drink or any of the products in the Fitness Bundle, just drop the word GREEN JUICE. And the best part about trying any of these amazing products is that there is a 30-day money back guarantee.

It is time to activate your life and get to a fit place: mind, body & soul.

HEALTHY GUT, HEALTHY MIND

Hi There! Now that I got your attention with these cute otters, let me ask you…How cute are you feeling? How are you feeling physically and emotionally lately?

I hope you are feeling great but if you happen to be feeling tired, sluggish or have no energy to start your day, one of the best ways to help yourself feel better, is to work on your body from the inside out! And that starts with finding something to help your gut health.

Something that will help you feel lighter, aid digestion and help you to eliminate toxins. One of the most important things you can do to help your body rid itself of toxins is to take care of your liver, and that means focusing on a healthy lifestyle and foods and drinks you consume, so this important organ doesn’t get overwhelmed.

“The liver is our detoxification machine. It’s made to do this,” says liver cancer specialist and surgeon Thomas Aloia, M.D. “Detoxifying the normal things we eat, breathe and ingest is part of its job and keeps us alive.”

However, ideally, we don’t always eat healthy and often times, we may drink too many alcoholic beverages, which also causes stress on the liver. When this happens, there are solutions to help your body in a holistic way.

If you have been reading my blogs or following me on social media for a while, you know that I am all about finding the best natural remedies. Truth be told is that medicines do work but often they come with many side effects and a very high price tag, even with health insurance. It’s the nature of the animal of healthcare in the United States.

With that said, I have personally started using plant-based alternatives that may help to heal your body from the inside out. One of those powerful things is a powder from a plant called, Moringa. I used to hear about this plant from one of my Cuban grandmothers, who is 96 (G-d bless her!) and has a wealth of knowledge and personal experience with ailments, diseases and home remedies. But let’s forget what my grandmother has to say and let’s look at the facts on the benefits of Moringa.

This Moringa (Moringa Oliefera) powder that I am taking is organically grown from the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains. It is packed with 7x the Vitamin C of Oranges, 4x the calcium and 2x the protein found in milk, 4x the vitamin a in carrots, 3x the potassium in Bananas, 25x the iron of spinach gram for gram! Now that is a lot of nutrients!

Moringa is also very rich in antioxidants.

According to an article in Healthline, “There are several antioxidant plant compounds found in the leaves of Moringa oleifera. “Moringa leaves are an excellent source of many vitamins and minerals. One cup of fresh, chopped leaves (21 grams) contains:

  • Protein: 2 grams
  • Vitamin B6: 19% of the RDA
  • Vitamin C: 12% of the RDA
  • Iron: 11% of the RDA
  • Riboflavin (B2): 11% of the RDA
  • Vitamin A (from beta-carotene): 9% of the RDA
  • Magnesium: 8% of the RDA”

In addition to vitamin C and beta-carotene, these include:

  • Quercetin: This powerful antioxidant may help lower blood pressure
  • Chlorogenic acid: Also found in high amounts in coffee, chlorogenic acid may help moderate blood sugar levels after meals (14Trusted Source, 15Trusted Source).

We also have a detox tea for those times when you really overdo it with eating and drinking in an unhealthy way. Occasionally, we need to cleanse our system. By taking this natural (vegan, soy free, dairy free) tea, it can help to make you feel lighter and flushed out. The high dietary fiber content may aid digestion and is the perfect solution to cleanse your body, if needed.

Most importantly, my point is that all of these natural products I am using and referring you to, play a vital role in gut health. If you haven’t been keeping up to date with the connection of gut health and the brain, you can read more about it here (after you finish this article.) You may be surprised to learn about “one type of bacteria found in the gut that may contribute to the development of Type 2 diabetes, while another may protect from the disease, according to early results from an ongoing, prospective study led by investigators at Cedars-Sinai.”

The study, published in the peer-reviewed journal Diabetes, found “people with higher levels of a bacterium called Coprococcus tended to have higher insulin sensitivity, while those whose microbiomes had higher levels of the bacterium Flavonifractor tended to have lower insulin sensitivity…The microbiome is thought to be affected by medications and diet. Studies have also found that people who don’t process insulin properly have lower levels of a certain type of bacteria that produce a type of fatty acid called butyrate.”

So, whether you want to focus on gut health, increased energy, weight management, reduced inflammation, increased energy, hair and nails growth, better sleep, focus and mental clarity, or nutrition, there is a way to do it holistic way to do it!

Remember, like I always say (and mention in a lot my articles,) life is about balance. It doesn’t mean that taking supplements or going green will be the end all be all to your health woes, but it will definitely be a good start to your healing journey. Keeping your life in balance by eating right, exercising (even if that means walking,) and committing to a healthy lifestyle is the best way to activate your best life and get to a fit place: mind, body & soul.

You always have the power to be happy and to be healthy – you just have to make the commitment and start!

LOOKING FOR THE LIGHT IN TOWER MOMENTS

Sometimes it’s difficult to be positive, and to be patient or to comprehend the challenges we are faced with, in those “tower moments” of life that make us feel overwhelmed. Those “tower moments” are moments that can feel like everything around you is crumbling, and getting more difficult at every turn, but the key to overcoming these moments, is to make space for more light to enter, to move to a new higher frequency with an upward and forward movement. It is important to always keep moving forward towards that light. (“Nunca para atrás como el cangrejo!”) Moving forward is not the same as moving on. You can “move on,” physically, but emotionally, you may not have moved forward. Forward is progress. It is where we need to go as things change and move in different directions with the ups & downs of life. We need to learn to look for the light and move forward in progress. And that doesn’t mean the “light” they talk about at death. When I refer to the light, I am referring to the light of LIFE, of love, of hope, of motivation, of kindness, of compassion, of happiness, of better days yet to come. It is the light that sparks you from the inside out!

We all have that “light” within in us, but sometimes we just need that spark or switch turned back on. Often, we forget who we really are supposed to be because we got lost in the chaos of life. It takes conscious effort to look for the things that “light you up,” and bring you joy. It also takes plenty of self-love and personal development to nurture your soul. We are a work in progress.

Ask yourself this? If you treated a project at work or at school with attention, care, and focus to make sure it was successful and turned out well, why wouldn’t you do that for yourself? If you are doing it right, when you complete a job, a project or levels in school, you keep going up and forward in progress. You either work towards a goal, good grades, a promotion or different levels of success, so why wouldn’t you put in the same or better effort to the ultimate project in your life? YOURSELF!

If you don’t put yourself first, why not? Well, maybe you feel stuck…but guess what? When we feel stuck in life, it is because we are not putting in the work. We are not putting in the work to better in our relationships, our jobs, our health, our friendships – none of it. Sometimes our hearts can’t accept what the Universe has planned for us but it is our job to We are just letting old patterns of behavior steer the wheel and become complacent with the status quo. Complacency is a killer. That doesn’t mean that life has to be perfect to be wonderful. It means, that we learn how to maneuver through those tough tower moments and find something wonderful in the journey. It is possible even in the darkest of days. We are not here on Earth to just get by and complain about the rough moments in our lives. Like the saying goes, “We are here to thrive, not just survive.”

And News Flash: no one gets out alive We’re not usually here for a long time, (unless you are my grandmother! LOL!) So, we should make every effort to make it the best time possible. Actually, what I have learned, is that we are here on Earth to learn to manipulate energy and become better versions of ourselves. If you are religious, then perhaps that better version is the goal of becoming God like. And if you believe in Source, then you know that we are all God and have that power within us to achieve a higher frequency.

But let me not digress into religion…the bottom line is you have to do what lights you up.

You (and by you, I mean you, me, we,) have to make a conscious effort to look for the things that “light you up,” and bring you joy. Even with all the craziness and frustrations, we go through in life, it is about surrounding yourself with people who make you want to be better and do better. It is about moving away from the dark energies and things that bring you down.  It is about appreciating those people, who genuinely love you and treat you well, who check on you and want to see you succeed in life. There is plenty of good in the world, we just have to look for it! And there is also great abundance in the world, (if only greed and power would take a back seat.) Love, abundance, kindness, it’s all there waiting for you, for me, for us!

Looking for the light is about finding “your tribe” and thriving there, whether that be with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, teammates, and so forth. Having a tribe is about having that support that we all need at one time or another in our lives. And if you don’t like the “tribe” you have, get a new one or find one! Reach out to me and will help you find one.

There will always be some cloudiness, and even some dark days, but it is in that “darkness,” that we must learn to manipulate our Energy, so that we can attract the good, (“the light”) and the higher frequency in life, which IMO, is THE goal. That higher frequency is in reference to a higher spiritual plane, not a physical state. And with that said, our physical state is also an integral part of our journey.

It is true that health is indeed our greatest wealth, and without that we have nothing, which makes it that much more difficult to stay motivated and happy when we are not in good health or not feeling our “best.”

This is why we should try to do everything in our POWER, to be as willing and as healthy as possible to put in the WORK: mind, body & soul.  Feeling good and having a positive mindset is hard work. No one said it would be easy; but it is definitely worth it, when you are able to shift your paradigm – to change your thinking and perspective from what it has always been, that is progress – that is success. It is learning to have a growth mindset over the same old stagnant mindset we have been conditioned with, that says things are the way they are, and that they have to stay that way.

This is not true. We can change our mindset at any time we make the DECISION to do so. We have the POWER! The power to be happy, to be healthy, to be kind, to spread love and happiness and to make every day count.

We are not here on Earth to just survive and get by. IMO, we are here to make a difference, to make a positive impact, somewhere along the course of our lives.

At some point in life, you may have inspired or motivated someone and not even known it. And sometimes, you might even have to “toot your own horn,” to keep you going with self-talk, personal development, daily affirmations or even just coming back to read this blog.

So even if you feel things are crumbling around you or getting more difficult, and those “tower moments,” seem to be growing, remember that we don’t grow or learn when things are easy. We grow when we learn to overcome the obstacles with grace and grit. We learn when we can recognize the lessons, as difficult as some of those may be.

The Earth, Gaia, G-d, Source is shifting us to become better versions of ourselves.

My advice is “do more of what makes you happy every day” and be like a sunflower – always looking for the light, that brings you joy, health and happiness. Stand tall, even if sometimes you may feel like you are wilting.

It’s all part of the process.  Inhale Love, exhale negativity.

YOU GET TO CHOOSE

Believe in Yourself

“Some say its fate but I say it ain’t…” 🎤 (Billy Joel) What If?

Destiny or fate may have placed us here on Earth with the people who surround us – our tribe, our family, our friends, even our haters, but personally, I believe that we have a major part in how the book of our life plays out.

The choices we’ve made along the way in our journey and continue to make, write out the story of our life. Or if you think like an artist, will paint the picture of your life. 🎨 We hold the brush (pen) and can paint (write) on any canvas we choose. We just have to decide what it is we REALLY want and the Universe (G-d) will help to make it happen. What 𝗜.𝗙. is a powerful tool – 𝕀𝕟𝕥𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟 + 𝔽𝕒𝕚𝕥𝕙.

We make choices everyday! Either we choose to just coast along and survive or we 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝘀 by living intentionally to thrive. However, that looks for 𝕐𝕆𝕌 without comparing your life to other. There will be chapters in the book when ee feelnlike we are only surviving or maybe evdn both, but the key is to know that we each have the 𝗣𝗢𝗪𝗘𝗥 to change our thoughts and our actions at any moment in life.

Never regret the choices you’ve made or the things that have happenes along the way, for they helped to make you who you are today and who you still will become. -LR ✍🏻✨

“Our destiny is not mapped out for us by some exterior power; we map it out for ourselves. What we think and do in the present determines what shall happen to us in the future.

“There is nothing in your life that you cannot modify, change, or improve when you learn to regulate your thought.”

LIFE DOESN’T HAVE TO BE PERFECT TO BE WONDERFUL.

Some days do you wake up and wonder , “Just what am I doing? Is this all worth it?”  Working hard to make a living, trying to blend into the “rat-race,” shuffling the kids back and forth between activities and sports, with barely any free time for yourself.  I know, I do!

There are just some days when I feel down and “blue” and can’t see the silver lining. This tends to happen on Monday mornings or when things aren’t going my way (fast enough.) It is usually when I am in my “own little world,” not really participating productively in society, that I let myself get trapped in that “blue box.”

Life can sometimes seem like one disappointment after another, but really, if we change our lens, and look at all the good and positive things in our lives, it can and will change our perspective.  It is so important to have a goal, to be a part of something bigger than us.

Even though, I do wake up some days feeling like something is wrong with the entire world, I’ve learned that “life doesn’t have to be perfect to be wonderful.”  I have learned that in moments like this, that’s when it’s time to make the EXTRA effort to get out and do something positive.  I have learned that three people have the power to make me happy: Me, Myself & I!

That’s right only YOU and I, individually, have the power to make ourselves happy.  And remember, life doesn’t have to be perfect all the time, you just have to recognize and appreciate what you do have and show gratitude everyday for it!  This does not mean you are going to float around like “Mary Poppins” every day but it will help you will start your day off with a little more pizzazz and appreciation for the life you live, especially when you have dreams and goals to pursue.

Here is a list of things I want to share with you, that you may want to try to help you get back into the “swing of things.”  Remember, YOU always have the power to be happy.

“What you think, you attract!”

10 TIPS TO BOOST YOUR DAY(S) INTO A HAPPY DAY(S):

1. Make a list of all the things you love and appreciate in your life (look at this list and remember it!)

2. Make a conscious effort to schedule time to do something YOU enjoy (art, crafts, yoga, write etc…)

3. Treat yourself to your favorite lunch or dinner.

4. Call or visit an old friend – sometimes the best therapy is just talking to someone you trust or like.

5. Find a way to laugh, whether it’s listening to jokes (audio) or going to a comedy show.

6. Read something inspiring and motivational.

7. Start a fun or creative project. Something that you’re excited about, that will make you smile.

8. Write about how you feel, whether you have a blog or not. Talk about the things that make you feel down or upset. Whether you share it or not, is not the point. It is cathartic to write out your feelings. Post it, don’t post it, whatever you choose to do, just get it out of your system.

9.  Watch that movie that you’ve wanted to see for a while now, even if it’s requires getting a sitter.

10. Go for a walk, somewhere where you can appreciate nature (tree, beach, mountain, by a lake etc…)

These are just a few things you can do to help you get a jump-start to your happy frame of mind.   Every day will not always be good but you can definitely find the good in every day.  You are attracting what you think on a daily basis.  You have the power…use it wisely!

Follow your dreams, set a goal, one day at a time.  The key is to find your purpose, or your passion and life will become more exhilarating every day! In the Face of Loss

3 ChoicesBad things will happen in life, it’s just how it goes, there is no explanation or justification.   Can we alter the things that happen in life? Is it “written in the stars?”  These are questions, I continuously ponder.  However, with that being said, I believe we must find a way to see the positive or at least make something positive come out of loss and tragedy.  There is a lesson in everything that happens, no matter how tragic.  Maybe it is a death of a loved one that is not letting you move forward. It is through having had this person in your life, that you must learn the true meaning of life and bravery. They were placed in your life as a gift, however short that time was. Death is a constant reminder, that we are on “borrowed’ time and there is never a guarantee of a long life. And while, the pain of losing a loved one is enormous, we must find the strength to surpass that pain and honor our loved ones by living a life they would be proud of.  Moving forward.

Change, whether good or bad, helps us grow and learn and become better human beings, even if you can’t see it while it’s happening.  Sometimes, out of tragic events, certain people are placed in our paths that affect our lives for the better.  There will never be an explanation for loss and pain, but there must be an effort to become a better person and to grow as we continue our life’s path. We must learn to be grateful for every moment we have with our loved ones, however boring and monotonous life may become.

Carpe Diem.  ~LR

READY FOR YOGA

Everywhere I read, it says how good Yoga is for you. Well, this is the year that I am going to start!  The benefits are many. Despite the fact that I am so out of shape, I am going to start little by little, perhaps with “chair yoga.”Namaste-woman-jayme

Chair Yoga

Chair Yoga is a gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting on a chair, or standing using a chair for support. It is in the process of being recognized formally as a type of yoga distinct from other types, such as Iyengar Yoga or Ashtanga yoga. Often the poses, or Asanas, are often adaptations of Hatha yoga poses.

“In Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism the word yoga means “spiritual discipline“. People often associate yoga with the postures and stances that make up the physical activity of the exercise, but after closer inspection it becomes clear that there are many more aspects of yoga. It is an activity that has been practiced for thousands of years, and it is something that has evolved and changed overtime. Different factions of yoga have developed since its conception.”

“The traditional purpose of Yoga, however, has always been to bring about a profound transformation in the person through the transcendence of the ego,” (Feuerstein 3)

Modern Yoga

Modern yoga is based on five basic principles that were created by Swami Sivananda.

  • Proper relaxation
  • Proper exercise
  • Proper breathing
  • Proper diet
  • Positive thinking and meditation

Recently, I read an article in the Huffington Post about how Yoga can make you happier Here is the article:

By Monique Minahan

When I first started practicing yoga, I was still digging my way out of a deep cavern of grief. Something about this unusual method of twists, turns, and upside downs kept calling me back. I didn’t know what it was initially, but as I began to settle into my body, things began to shift in my life.

I think of it as going from a paralyzed life to a walking life. If you are already able to walk and then begin to run, that’s liberating. If you are paralyzed and then begin to walk, that’s a miracle.

2013-01-17-Gaiam4This was my experience with the power and patience of yoga. Learning how to walk into my life, transition from grief to peace, and eventually to happiness.

The peace and happiness we access on our mats is no accident. Although many write it off as just another exercise-induced dopamine high, yoga goes deeper than that. The mind-body connection created in yoga facilitates change at a cellular level. Cellular memory is the idea that our bodies hold our histories.

Before you brush this off as far-fetched, consider that scientists and physicians have found compelling evidence that the brain and body send messages to each other through neuropeptides and receptors. Neurocardiology is a discipline that studies the communicative relationship between the brain and the heart.

Our nervous systems are what we’re tapping into in yoga. Retraining how psychological or emotional triggers set off our flight-or-fight response allows us the opportunity to rewire our sympathetic nervous system. The deep breathing practiced in yoga activates the parasympathetic nervous system, producing a calming, relaxed effect.

The relationship between head and heart has been described as a “dynamic, ongoing, two-way dialogue with each organ continuously influencing the other’s function.”

When we weave positive intention into our movements, we are imprinting these thoughts, not only into our minds, but into our bodies. We are effecting change on our mat that will allow for change off our mat.

Much of our unhappiness as humans comes from our thoughts or feelings. We judge our experiences in terms of good or bad. We experience feelings of inadequacy, powerlessness, embarrassment, humiliation, and we often keep track of what we don’t have more than what we do have.

A full practice of yoga, including meditation, gently removes these weights from our minds and our bodies. Not only does it remove them, but with time it can begin to reshape our attitudes, views, and thoughts.

The physical postures take us into our bodies in a non-judgmental way. From this neutral viewpoint, we can see huge possibility. Without being blocked by preconceived ideas of what we can or cannot do, we are free to try, to fall, to play, and to grow.

Physically, yoga asks one simple thing of us: Show up. Show up in mind, body, and spirit. These are things we can skimp on in other areas of life. Perhaps we show up in body to work or a conversation, but our minds are somewhere else. At times we show up mentally to a project, while our bodies slouch for hours, forgotten. The integration in yoga of all these parts creates the prerequisite unity and connection required for happiness to bloom.

Once we feel unified and connected, we will access a deep well of joy that does not diminish when shared. Yoga doesn’t just lift our spirits. It lifts our lives. It opens our eyes to the essence of who we are, and therein lies peace. Therein lies the happiness.

Are You a Loner?

Some people think that because someone is a “loner” and in their “own world” that they are unhappy. This is not the case. There are many people who are very happy and very comfortable in their own skin, who have chosen to not deal with the day-to-day idiosyncrasies of life and the multitude of ignorant behavior in the world and are in search of a higher meaning and more profound relationships.

Do not criticize or ostracize friends or family, who are like this. It is not necessary for them to be surrounded by tons of people all the time. In Spanish there is a saying that goes, “Es mejor estar solo que mal acompañado. (It is better to be alone than in poor company.)
